Mission Statement
AFPA is an organization of treasury and financial professionals committed to supporting, promoting and improving treasury and financial operations. We support the career development of our members. AFPA is comprised of representatives from leading corporations and financial institutions across greater Atlanta. This combination of local, financial professionals adds to our monthly and yearly programs, providing a forum for members to enhance their professional skills, stay current with trends and technology, and to exchange ideas with regional colleagues.
Association for Financial Professionals (AFP)
AFP was founded in 1979 as the National Corporate Cash Management Association. In 1989, NCCMA established the Certified Cash Manager (CCM) designation. In 1991, NCCMA changed its name to the Treasury Management Association. In 1999, TMA changed it's name to AFP and it established the Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation in 2003 and the Certified Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis Professional designation (FP&A) in 2014.
Association for Financial Professionals of Atlanta (AFPA)
The Association for Financial Professionals of Atlanta (AFPA) was incorporated in 1992 as the Atlanta Treasury Management Association, Inc. AFPA is a registered 501(c)(6) corporation and a regional chapter of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP). AFPA partners with AFP to provide local networking and educational opportunities. AFPA also partners with local businesses and organizations to educate our members and to assist the community by participating in various annual fund raisers to support other local non-profits and charities.
